Need help setting up your email on your local computer? This gives you step-by-step instructions for common email clients for both PC's and MAC.

Basic information needed by most email clients.

Type: POP3

Incoming Mail Server (POP3): mail.your.domain (replace your.domain with your domain name)

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
  • 1st choice) Use the SMTP server from your ISP
    • Some ISP's won't allow you to use a third party SMTP server (such as AOL, Earthlink, Cox Cable, SBC Global and more) and you must use your local ISP's.
    • Here is a list of common ISP SMTP servers
  • 2nd choice) mail.your.domain (replace your.domain with your domain name)
    • If you use our SMTP server instead of the your local ISP's - then you need to check the box that says "SMTP server requires authentication".
Account ID = Your full email address goes here
Password = xxxxxx

All other information should be left as the system defaults.

Note: If you can receive your email, but can not send mail, the two most common problems are:
  • You have not checked the "SMTP server requires authentication" box.
  • Your ISP will not allow the use of a third party SMTP server and you need to use theirs.
